Dogi’s Half Marathon

The charm of the Dogi’s Half Marathon lies in its unique course that changes every year, but at the same time retains the excellent features that exert a pull on participants.

The Dogi’s Half Marathon is a competition that has been held in spring since the second half of the 20th century and covers 21,098 kilometers. Every year on the first Sunday of April, thousands of athletes get together and followe its ellipse-shaped course to run along the river Naviglio del brenta.

The event attracts both national and international athletes. The uniqueness of this unmissable event is that it is run alongside 19 villas – the true treasure of the Land of the Dogi – and never stop to mesmerize those who undertake the competition and take in the sights.

“A run through history and nature”, claims one of the Dogi’s Half Marathon slogans, and most certainly there isn’t a more accurate way to describe it. Set over a flat course, it is dotted with artistic and architectural beauties. The race cuts through four Venice’s Comuni: Mira, Dolo, Fiesso d’Artico and Stra. Every year the itinerary has a different start and end, a peculiarity that gives the impression that it is always a new and evocative run.
