{"id":3047,"date":"2021-12-17T11:55:03","date_gmt":"2021-12-17T10:55:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.larivieradelbrenta.it\/?p=3047"},"modified":"2025-11-12T14:25:21","modified_gmt":"2025-11-12T13:25:21","slug":"the-game-of-the-goose","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.larivieradelbrenta.it\/en\/the-game-of-the-goose\/","title":{"rendered":"The Game of the Goose"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"page-element\">\r\n    <div class=\"container-fluid\">\r\n        <div class=\"row justify-content-center\">\r\n            <div class=\"col-12 col-lg-6\">\r\n                <div class=\"page-element__text\"><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Every year, <strong>at the beginning of November,<\/strong> the <strong>Fiera de l&#8217;Oca<\/strong> returns to enliven <strong>Mirano<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cIt&#8217;s the weekend of <strong>San Martino<\/strong> and for two days the town takes a dip into its past, returning to the early 20th century, with the historic center transformed into a Belle \u00c9poque square during the village fair,\u201d says Roberto Gallorini, President of the Pro Loco, which organizes the event.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;The symbols of modernity disappear and nothing is left to chance: the newspaper boy appears with his paper, the barker with his concoctions, the craftsman who weaves chairs and games of yesteryear, while elegant ladies in <strong>period costumes<\/strong> sell gastronomic products and objects depicting geese. Actors, extras, and figurants enliven the streets of the historic center, and the town square becomes a <strong>giant board game <\/strong>with 63 squares, dice, and giant pawns, bringing unlikely tests of skill and cunning to life.
