“DOLO IN BLOOM”
Dolo in Fiore (Dolo in bloom), held on May 1st, has now become a regular appointment at the town’s pedestrian area (Isola Bassa), one of Dolo’s most peculiar areas. It’s a garden and vegetable market exhibition where stalls display flowers, plants, gardening tools and items for vegetable growing. Alongside the flower displays, the event also hosts an extensive organic market exhibition, showcasing a variety of carefully selected products aimed for those who wish to make healthier food choices. Century-old buildings such as the Squero Monumentale, the Mills or the river – claims Marina Zuin, event coordinator – make for an evocative and unique setting that every May 1st becomes a precious showcase filled with wonderful fragrances and plants that add a touch of colour to Dolo’s historical centre. The traditional Flower Show is a must-see for all gardening enthusiasts, both locals or tourists, as it’s the perfect time to shop for decorative plants and flowers, fully experience the vibrant atmosphere created by the numerous restaurants, explore themed exhibitions and watch the Voga alla Veneta traditional rowing raid.
