The Villas of the Brenta Riviera and their beautiful parks come alive with music every year, especially between June and July, thanks to the music festival “Un Fiume di Note”. These concerts annually host the debut of particularly talented young musicians from various British colleges, who perform in prestigious venues throughout Europe and who, along the Brenta Riviera, find magnificent villas and splendid gardens ready to welcome them. The musicians also perform in other spectacular locations such as St. Mark’s Cathedral and different venetian theatres. The festival, that has now reached its 8th edition, as conceived by Elisabetta Fogarin, President of the Consorzio Ville Venete, event planner and passionate advocate of both music and the extraordinary Venetian Villas. She notes:
“More than art, more than literature, music is universally accessible. At times, villas host individual concerts or off-season festivals featuring internationally renowned professional musicians. The Venetian Villas are the ideal setting for listening to great music: acoustics, halls, frescoes, gardens and statues blend perfectly with the notes, creating truly unique and unforgettable experiences.”
The offer of concerts is always very varied as it includes classical, pop, rock and jazz music. Concerts have free entry, but it is recommended to book in advance as they get booked up easily. Every location offers different types of activities designed to make the evening truly unforgettable, including aperitifs, food tastings and guided night tours of Villas and gardens. The event is a unique opportunity to enjoy live music performed by orchestras, bands and choirs composed of up to 100 musicians, set in the scenery of the Brenta Riviera and its fairytale-like surroundings. The concerts are generally hosted in the beautiful Villas of the Brenta Riviera such as Villa Pisani, Villa Foscarini Rossi in Stra, Villa Ducale in Dolo and Villa Widmann in Mira. Every year, new and different locations along the Brenta Canal are added to the program, showocasing the historical and architectural beauty of the area.
