They say that its charm lies in a feature that makes it unique in the world: it follows a route that changes every year, yet always remains the same.
The Dogi’s Half Marathon is the spring half marathon: it has been run for almost a quarter of a century over the classic distance of 21,097 kilometers. And every year – usually on the first Sunday in April – it involves thousands of athletes from all over Italy and abroad.
Its route is shaped like an ellipse that runs along the two banks of the Naviglio Brenta canal. Before the eyes of the many runners, for whom the Dogi’s Half Marathon is an unmissable event, 19 villas representing the treasure of the land of the Doges pass by along the way.
“Running through nature and history” is one of the slogans of the Dogi’s Half Marathon. How true. And then, going from beauty to beauty, there is that special feature of the route that makes it unique and inimitable: Mira, Dolo, Fiesso d’Artico, and Stra. And its evocative route, in each edition, rotates the start and finish between the four towns, offering athletes the feeling of running on an ever-changing course.
